Private Eye is bringing out a ‘Whistleblowers’ Special’ edition, due the first week in July 2011. Despite so-called ‘safeguards’, health professionals who speak out about bad practice or other risks to patient safety put their careers on the line. Patients who have experienced bad practice can find many barriers when they want to speak out and influence change. This edition will look at what needs to be done so that lessons can be learned and health professionals and patients protected.
