Severe Human Rights Abuses in Healthcare Settings

Severe human rights abuses in healthcare settings

http://www.bmj.com/content/344/bmj.e2013

If you know anyone who has experienced severe, unacceptable and unacknowledged pain as a result of health ‘care’, they may like to read this article/abstract in this week’s bmj and perhaps write a ‘rapid response’ (RR)- just click on ‘Respond to this article’.

What was most interesting to me was that shortly after I wrote an RR, the ‘thumbs down’ indicator of dislike rose rapidly to -7 (MINUS seven!) Such reactions could actually be seen to endorse and validate my response. ‘Torture’ is still a forbidden word, and lack of acknowledgement of patient pain still routine. (Since then, the score has fluctuated.)
