Patients’ Association report shows need for compassion

Professor Clare Gerada, Chair, RCGP, has expressed disappointment at The Patient’s Association report, ‘Patients & GPs – Partners in Care’, which says patients feel that GPs are poor communicators who do not share decision-making with them. Patients often report not receiving the compassion, dignity and respect which they deserve and which the NHS Constitution entitles them to. Only 6 out of 10 patients believe that their GP treats them with compassion. (from OnMedica 3.10.12)
