Breast screening: understandable video on U-tube

Gilbert Welch from Dartmouth, author of “Should I get tested for cancer?” and “Overdiagnosed” lectured about overdiagnosis in general in Copenhagen mid-November. He has now put a 10 min video for the general public up on You Tube, which explains his NEJM paper from 22 Nov in a way lay people can understand:

An estimated 1.3 million women in USA have been overdiagnosed by screening mammography whereas it is doubtful whether screening has an effect on breast cancer mortality. This study confirms many other rigorous studies published in the last 2-3 years, summarised on the Cochrane website (ref 8 in their critique of the Marmot report), which is the written evidence submitted to the UK panel in February: for UK Panel.pdf
