The Rarer Cancers Foundation
Patient Empowerment Day
The Holiday Inn London–Bloomsbury
Coram Street, London WC1N 1HT.
Monday 3rd June 2013
10.00am – 3.30pm
The Rarer Cancers Foundation is holding a patient day for cancer patients, carers and their families in order to gain a better understanding of the care and support they should expect after being diagnosed with a rare or less common cancer.
The conference will explore many of the options available to patients such as referrals to expert second opinions, specialist cancer centres, clinical trials, radiotherapy, access to drugs and much more besides.
The conference will also include an exciting session which will focus specifically on how a patient can help to campaign for improvements and better outcomes at both local and national levels for all cancer patients.
Attendees will be able to participate in a 1 to 1 session with advocacy experts where they will be able to receive individual advice and support to help overcome specific barriers that they may be facing such as how to access latest treatments or drugs, lack of information and support, access to clinical nurse specialists etc.
This event is designed to be informative, supportive and inspiring for patients at all stages of their cancer journey. We want them all to have a better understanding of who is involved in their care and how they can have a positive impact and maybe help improve services and support for all rarer cancer patients.
We would ask you to circulate the attached invitation and registration form to all patients on your database and to any other parties you feel may be interested in this event, it would be great if you could also advertise this event on your website.
Attendance to this conference is completely free for all patients.
Places are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis
In special circumstances travel bursaries may available please contact me on 0208 692 2910 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
