NHS – hope on the horizon?

Yet another NHS scandal was reported in the media today, this time resulting from the Care Quality Commission’s visit and investigations into Colchester General hospital in Essex . Serious findings include staff bullying, falsifying records, and unacceptable delays in cancer patients’ treatments which could have affected their prognoses and have now been referred to the police.

Why am I cheerful? Because not only has this been discovered – IT HAS NOT BEEN COVERED UP! And action has been taken that might have some impact. At last I have hope that the Care Quality Commission will be fit for purpose and that healthcare will improve.
