‘Just a little scratch’ is bad enough – a needle piercing flesh bears no resemblance to just a little scratch – but dumbing down patient information/warning of pain as a routine policy is, to me, just another facet of the paternalism patients and patient activists have been trying to leave behind in the 20C – yet now being promoted ‘for the patient’s sake.
